A Better Life for 437 Displaced Families!

15 October 2022

In mid-February 2020, when we launched '1000 Housing Units' project, it gained a lot of success and was positively received by donors, especially given its rapid implementation. The project proved the efficiency of the concrete housing units as an alternative for tents. The low cost ($250) of the housing unit for one family was one of the main features that attracted donors, allowing them to contribute towards largely reducing the suffering experienced by displaced families who live in tents.

In a few months, we were able to finalize the first and second phases of the project in Barisha and Tur Laha areas in northern Syria. The first phase relocated 261 families while the second stage relocated 176 families. Through these two phases, 437 families got a chance to have a more decent, stable life in the units.

Recently, we have launched the third phase of the project in Azaz town in in northern Syria. The plan is to relocate 472 displaced families into housing units, and to establish service facilities including a school, a health centre, and a mosque.

Finally, we are tremendously grateful for all those who put faith in Molham Volunteering Team and trusted its ability to take a step towards permanently improving the life of hundreds of displaced families. Undoubtedly, nothing is comparable to the hardships experienced by the hundreds of thousands of Syrian families living in makeshift camps, and every donation makes a difference.
