How many female detainees have been released, hoping to mend what was deliberately broken in detention, only to find themselves facing a difficult life and overwhelming circumstances?
Thousands of women who demanded freedom and dignity lost years of their lives in the regime’s detention centers, where jailers excelled in verbal and physical torture. After surviving, they face significant challenges and harsh living conditions. Many survivors live with fragile psyches and broken hearts, struggling to afford rent and basic necessities. Aunt Huda is one of the survivors of Assad’s prisons, where she endured the harshest forms of torture and lived through the toughest days, emerging with a tired psyche and a debilitated body.
For Aunt Huda and other survivors, we launch the "Survivors" campaign to help them pay rent and secure their essentials.
Help, even a little, to give them a life that makes them forget the bitterness of detention.
