Nisreen suffers from sickle cell anemia, which causes her frequent painful attacks. Last year, she lost her hip joint, and now she urgently needs surgery to implant an artificial shoulder joint. In addition to this, she experiences severe pain crises.
She cannot afford the cost of the surgery, and her family is unable to help. Her father lost both his legs and his eyesight due to diabetes, while her mother suffers from high blood pressure and heart disease. The family survives on a very low income, barely enough for bread, let alone medicine.
