But this tragedy was only the beginning. When their little girl, Widad, opened her eyes for the first time, she unknowingly brought another heartbreak to her family—she was born with hydrocephalus. A severe brain condition that nearly cost her life. The hospital became her only world, where she knew nothing but the beeping of breathing machines and the trembling touch of her mother’s hands as she tried to give her warmth and hope, even though hope itself seemed to slip away each day. She underwent a critical surgery to implant a brain shunt, but her journey is far from over. Widad still needs continuous treatment and daily medication. She needs a chance to live, yet her family struggles just to afford the basics of survival.
