Our Countryside Deserves Better

The Eastern and Western Ghouta… two earthly paradises that once nourished the capital, but have now become a graveyard for dreams and a place of exile for souls.

This land endured a suffocating siege, systematic starvation, and relentless bombardment that spared nothing, followed by forced displacement that uprooted its people, leaving behind a devastated land and harsh conditions that its inhabitants still endure in painful silence.

Yet hope has not died, nor has determination been broken. For this reason, we are launching the campaign “Our Countryside Deserves Better”, joining hands with the Syrian community to mobilize efforts and direct them toward meeting the basic needs of the Damascus countryside. The campaign aims to gather support for 27 towns and cities, to aid in reconstruction, improve services, and restore infrastructure.

Today, we stand before a shared responsibility: to bring life back to our countryside, and to prove to the world that this land will rise again as it once was.
