Support for Patients’ Companions

Patients lean on them… but who do they have to lean on?

In Damascus hospitals, patients from distant provinces lie in wait, carrying with them the hope of recovery after a long and exhausting journey.

It is a journey they did not make alone. Beside them came those who support them, only to find themselves with no shelter, sleeping on the sidewalks of Damascus, trapped in a stay with no idea when it will end.

Hospitals cannot accommodate them all, and the long road has already drained them of what little they had, leaving them unable to rent even a small room for shelter or secure their most basic needs.

And while the patient bears the burden of illness, they are also weighed down by चिंता for the loved one who accompanied them on this journey and has been worn down by hardship and long waiting. For them, we are launching this initiative: to stand by patients’ companions and provide them with shelter and essential needs, until God grants their loved ones healing.
