Eleven Years in the Depths of Prison

After eleven years of the hell of prisons, torture, and darkness, Younes emerged from the belly of the whale—wounded, tormented, and robbed of his youth. Younes was arrested while studying at Al-Baath University and was transferred between multiple security branches, with his final destination being Adra Prison. When Syria was liberated, Younes was released, but he carried with him numerous illnesses that have since burdened him. Younes endured the harshest forms of torture and intimidation, leaving his body and mind shattered. He now lives with constant pain, suffering day and night beyond what he can bear. He urgently needs continuous medical care and treatment to alleviate even a fraction of his suffering. It is time to repay our debt to our former detainees.
