In 2014, driven by false accusations, Abdul Moeen was arrested while living abroad. Branded a terrorist, he was unjustly sentenced to ten years in Roumieh prison, where he spent the prime of his youth behind bars—innocent yet crushed beneath the weight of injustice. He endured the bitterness of imprisonment and the brutality of interrogations in security branches, all for a crime he did not commit.
Upon returning home, Abdul Moeen’s suffering was far from over. He was seized once again, dragged from the Military Intelligence branch in Homs to the notorious Palestine Branch in Damascus. There, he was relentlessly tortured, passed from one dungeon to another until he found himself in the hell of Saydnaya prison.
From Saydnaya, he was transferred to the Political Security branch to serve what remained of his sentence. Yet, it was there—against all odds—that he finally tasted freedom.
Today, Abdul Moeen lives with his family in a fragile tent, his body bearing the scars of years of captivity. He asks for nothing but a chance—a chance to start over. Let us stand with him and help him reclaim the life stolen from him.
