Fatima used to rely on a Red Crescent aid card to cover their basic needs, but that support was cut off after her eldest daughter got married and moved to another province—leaving Fatima once again to face life’s burdens alone. She lost her only son in the devastating Marash earthquake. Since then, the sorrow of his absence and the weight of that loss have never left her.
