Hala, the orphaned girl, was born on January 1, 2010, and lived nearly three years in the arms of her father in a stable home. However, an awful chain of arrests happened, throwing shadows on her father, her source of protection, who died in a harsh jail cell in 2013. Since then, the family has gone on a painful journey defined by hardship and living in a tent that gives no protection from the cold and heat. The mother bears a great load, and her heart is almost breaking with grief over her children's lack of the basic necessities of life. She can only do so much on her own.
