Hiyam, born in 2018, lost her father at just one year old when he was martyred in an airstrike in Ma‘arrat al-Nu‘man. After this devastating loss, she and her mother were forced to flee to Idlib, living with her grandfather, who suffers from a leg amputation, in a rented home under harsh and precarious conditions, while her mother works tirelessly to provide for them. Despite these hardships, Hiyam has enrolled in school and dreams of becoming a veterinarian, determined to care for animals and pursue her big dream.
