At just 18, Mahmoud was sentenced to years in Saydnaya Prison, leaving behind a grieving mother and younger siblings.
During his detention, he suffered rib fractures that now prevent him from lifting anything heavy. His health deteriorated so severely that he eventually needed an artificial joint.
Today, after being released, Mahmoud has returned to his family. As their sole provider, he is doing everything he can to support them—but his medical condition makes it difficult to find suitable work.
