Fatima is facing her children’s treatment journey alone. Her daughter Zainab’s suffering began two years ago when she was diagnosed with kidney failure. Four months ago, her brother Jamil followed the same path, and now both children must undergo dialysis three times a week.
The family lives in a tiny rented home made up of one room and a small sitting area, plagued by severe dampness and lacking even the most necessities. Their difficult financial situation and the high cost of rent prevent them from moving to a healthier, more suitable place.
Fatima’s husband is still in Lebanon, unable to return because of the debts that have piled up on him. He lives with the hope of coming back once he can repay what he owes, but until then, Fatima is left on her own – trying to secure her children’s needs and accompany them through their exhausting treatments under these crushing conditions.
This family is now in urgent need of a compassionate hand to lighten the weight of illness and poverty from their shoulders.
