For the past ten years, Hanan has been struggling alone after the death of her husband, shouldering the responsibility of raising her three children in harsh living conditions. The family lives in a simple, poorly maintained house that lacks even the most basic necessities and has no heating despite the severe cold.
Her son Malek is the family’s only provider, working at a juice shop to cover the needs of his mother and sisters, while the family relies mostly on borrowing to get by. The lack of heating has exhausted the daughters, who suffer from recurring illnesses due to the extreme cold and having to stay under blankets for long hours.
