Nasser lives with his children in a tent that offers no protection from the winter cold or the summer heat. Its roof is made of tarp, and it lacks even the most basic necessities of human life. Each day they face a new battle against cold, poverty, and fear for the children.
Nasser lost his entire arm from the shoulder as a result of an airstrike that struck his city, leaving him unable to work or provide for his family. He also suffers from chronic illnesses, most notably diabetes and prostate disease, and requires continuous medication and treatment that he cannot afford. The pain is even greater because two of his children also suffer from chronic illnesses.
This family is living in extreme vulnerability without a capable provider, without safe shelter, and in urgent need of humanitarian support to provide medication, secure the children’s basic needs, and restore some sense of safety to their lives.
