Uncle Muhannad, who suffers from heart disease and high blood pressure, experienced a serious health episode that required his urgent transfer to the hospital. After undergoing an ECG, he had a diagnostic cardiac catheterization. Since then, his health has remained fragile; he requires continuous monitoring and must avoid any physical exertion that could put his life at risk. His living conditions are no less harsh. He lives with his family in a relative’s home because they cannot afford housing costs. He is no longer able to work due to his illness and advancing age, and they survive on occasional assistance from relatives and on debt, under circumstances that grow tighter day by day. Between a weary heart and worsening hardship, Uncle Muhannad spends his days hoping for support that will ease the burden of illness and need.
