Did it deserve to sacrifice 10 years of our lives?

Did it deserve to sacrifice 10 years of our lives?

18 August 2023

Had it not been for the Syrian Revolution, we wouldn't have had the last ten years. The revolution was the starting point, the guide of our dreams, and the first step to justice. While the tyrannies tried to impose their views over our blood, we said “No”. No more cruelty and no rest until our people get peace.

On 26/10/2012, Molham Volunteering Team was established in an attempt to reject injustice and support people in need.

The first case for Molham Team was securing the cost of urgent surgery for a woman through messages sent about her medical condition and need for treatment. Ten years later, the Medical Department accomplished remarkable success making a significant difference in the lives of thousands of people. Today, the team has established its medical points, centers, and clinics in northern Syria.

The Humanitarian Department may have started by providing one-time aid but today it helps thousands of people and supports small businesses to create a durable source of income for many families.

As for the Orphans Department, we feel proud when we remember that we started by sponsoring a few orphans. Today, we secure monthly sponsorships for more than 3,600 orphaned children to provide for their needs and help them continue their education.

For years, the Campaigns Department has responded to requests for help. Today, it passionately carries on with its mission without becoming insensitive to the pain or turning a blind eye to the poor.

Since happiness is essential, the Events Department kicked things off with a party for an orphan. Today, it holds events and celebrations with full camps on many occasions. It also provides safe playing spaces for dozens of children with parks and outdoor games.

Education is the cornerstone of nations. Therefore, the Education Department was able to acquire thousands of educational sponsorships for university and school students. Additionally, it opened schools, kindergartens, and educational institutes which had a profound impact on the lives of thousands of students.

Finally, the Shelter Department was the dream we always had. The dream came true in 2020 with more than five housing projects in the north of Syria. The projects include more than 1500 residential apartments within the “Until the Last Tent” campaign.

After all, was it worth ten years of our life?

Our response to that is asking: Is anything more valuable in a lifetime than a homeland? Is anything more precious than hearing a child laugh in peace and comfort? Is there a dream nobler than the joy of a heartbroken man?

As long as we succeed in the humanity criterion, we don't care about the other criteria of the world.
